Voter drive

A voter registration drive will be held from noon until 5pm Saturday at the Dark Park on South Sound.

Everyone who signs up to register to vote will be eligible to win one of many prizes. There will also be entertainment and a fish fry.

Bulk waste collection

The Department of Environmental Health’s bulk waste collection campaign concludes next week. Waste will be collected in the East End and North Side districts from Tuesday through Saturday, 13 December.

Residents in both districts are reminded to start placing their items kerbside by today.

Department officials also remind residents that no bulk waste will be collected after Saturday, 13 December. Bulk items include household appliances, furniture and yard waste, but not construction or demolition debris.

Celebrating women

The Cayman Islands Government will commemorate the 50th Anniversary of women gaining the right to vote and hold office in the Cayman Islands on Monday at the steps of the Legislative Assembly at 9am. The public is invited

Due to this ceremony, Fort Street in front of the Legislative Assembly will be closed from 5am to 1pm Monday. Road blocks will be in place on either side of the Legislative Assembly and at the junction of Albert Panton Street and Fort Street.

NS church fundraiser

A fundraiser for the North Side United Church will be held at 5pm Saturday.

Dinners will be sold and a concert will be held.

Entrees include turkey, ham, turtle, fish and the fixings, as well as desert.

The fundraiser will be at the Church hall. Tickets are $15
