Traffic snarl avoidable

I am so glad others are complaining about the traffic congestion on the Saturday before Christmas.

We had friends visiting from South Africa and when we wanted to go through George Town at 9am, the traffic was blocked.

Later in the afternoon I had to get to Kirk Home Centre to do gift wrapping for charity and I was 20 minutes just in Cardinall Avenue, all of 50 yards long! It was so annoying – the police should never have allowed a main thoroughfare to be blocked on the Saturday before Christmas (for whatever charitable reason!) and for so long – 9 a.m. to at least 4.30pm. It showed so little regard for the public.

The party could have been held elsewhere, not on a main street through George Town.
