Gayle is top one-dayer

West Indies captain Chris Gayle has reclaimed top spot in the one-day international rankings for batsmen after his impressive performances against New Zealand, the International Cricket Council said.

The Jamaican, who last held top spot almost five years ago, hit 135 in the final one-dayer, helping the left-hander gain five places and knock India’s Mahendra Singh Dhoni off the top.

Australian seamer Nathan Bracken replaced New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori as the top-ranked bowler in ODI cricket.
