A woman police said was struck by a suspected drunk driver on Grand Cayman in January has died from injuries suffered in that crash.
Royal Cayman Islands Police said 32-year-old Carol Romero was hit by a Kia Sportage as she attempted to cross Shamrock Road around 7.30pm on 21 January.
The 38-year-old Kia driver was arrested at the scene for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver has not been charged.
Police said the accident victim died in Honduras more than a month after she was flown off island for medical treatment.
It was just hours after the 21 January crash that Cayman saw its first deadly car accident of 2009. That wreck in Cayman Brac claimed 23-year-old Eric Dixon of Spot Bay.
