Arrest made in stabbing

Police have arrested a 22-year-old man in the stabbing of another man in West Bay early Saturday.

An on-duty police officer patrolling the district was flagged down by a man driving a pick-up truck on Reverend Blackman Road at around 3.45am Saturday. Police said the truck’s driver had a passenger who had been stabbed in the stomach.

The uniformed constable requested an ambulance and the truck’s passenger was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery Saturday. The 20-year-old victim was listed in critical condition at press time.

The driver of the pick-up truck has told officers that the victim arrived injured at his house on Fountain Road around 3.30am. The wounded man was able to talk, but appeared to be seriously wounded.

The 22-year-old suspect was arrested later in the day Saturday.
