Man charged in Schirn murder

A 34-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Sabrina Schirn.

Randy Lebert Martin was charged with one count of murder and appeared before the Magistrates Court on Friday.

The suspect was arrested by detectives on April 3rd. He was charged on Thursday by Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Kim Evans.

Sabrina’s body was found on Tuesday, March 17 in bush land off High Rock Road, East End. Her family has been informed of the charges.

Although the Royal Cayman Islands Police Services said it understood the public interest in this case, it said in a press release Friday that since the matter was now subject to court proceedings, it would not make any further public comment to avoid prejudicing the case and being in contempt of court.

A more comprehensive story will appear in the Monday 4 May edition of the Caymanian Compass.
