A lucky UK couple has won a wedding and honeymoon in the Cayman Islands.
The couple, from Liverpool, also won a wedding dress designed by top UK Fashion Designer Ben De Lisi.
The wedding dress was given by Mr. de Lisi as part of the prize, with the travel, wedding and honeymoon being courtesy of the Cayman Islands’ Department of Tourism UK who have partnered with the Caribbean Club and Celebrations to make this a truly exceptional prize, said a press release.
Mr. De Lisi visited the Cayman Islands last year to get inspiration to design the ultimate Cayman Islands beach wedding dress and he was also on the panel of judges who made the final selection.
The winning couple, Vicki White and Tony Smart, were overjoyed to have won such an amazing prize and still can’t believe their luck.
The couple first got together back in 2006 while working for the same insurance company. By chance they were moved to be on the same team and ended up being seated together.
Vicki said that their being moved next to each other also coincided with them having recently split with their respective partners. ‘It was destiny,’ she said.
They had their first date on 1 April, 2006 and Tony proposed on Valentine’s Day 2008.
The couple, who were due to arrive in Grand Cayman on Tuesday of this week, will have their ceremony and reception at the Caribbean Club (where the couple will be staying) on Friday 5 June at 5:45pm.
Celebrations have designed a truly unique intimate beach wedding and reception for the couple and their guests, working alongside DoT UK and the Caribbean Club. The couple will then travel to the Southern Cross Club in Little Cayman for their honeymoon.
The wedding and details of the couples’ experience in the Cayman Islands will be featured in several UK magazines which will be promoting the Cayman Islands as a top location for destination weddings.
