George Town detectives are investigating a robbery which took place overnight. The 911
Emergency Communications Centre received a call from a member of the public at around
12.40am (September 3) reporting that he had found a man lying unconscious in the road on
Courts Road. Police and medics responded to the scene and the man was taken to hospital.
He has since told police that he was cycling home from work when he felt a blow to the back
of his head and passed out. The man has suffered a head injury and remains in hospital in a
stable condition. A number of items the man was carrying, including a wallet, had been
taken from him.
It is not known at what time the offence took place and officers would like to hear
from anyone with information. Anyone who can help should contact George Town CID on
