Shennel scores a double

Shennel Gall of Women United and Abijah Rivers of Elite SC were awarded female and male player of the year respectively at the Cayman Islands Football Association awards ceremony held at the Marriott Resort Hotel last Saturday evening.

Gall received this award for the second successive season and also the Golden Boot award as well while Rivers received the defender of the year award and the player of the year award.

Guest Speaker for the evening was Technical Director of the national football programme Carl Brown who was very clear-cut in his keynote address touching all areas of the football connections.

In other major awards; Runner Up in Girls Under 17 were Future Sports Club, the Champions were Women United Football Club, Fair Play Award went to St. Ignatius High School, Golden Boot Award to Alyssa Chin of Women United Football Club, Goalkeeper of the Year was Emily Kelly of Women United Football Club.

Defender of the Year went to Brianna Hydes of Women United Football Club Player of the year was Britaney Mobley and Coach of the Year went to Martha Godet of Elite Sports Club.

The ceremony saw a turnout of over one hundred and fifty guests. The Master of Ceremony was CITN Sports Presenter Jason Harper and David Fredericks 1st Vice President of CIFA gave the Vote of Thanks.
