Ritz Legends needs more officials

The Tennis Federation is arranging to host an Officials Training Course on the weekend of 30 October-1 November. To become an accredited Level 1 official or simply those wanting to brush up their line calling technique, this course is ideal.

It will start either Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Federation president Jeremy Superfine said: ‘We will confirm exact timing when we have the details. International Tennis Federation officials will be running the course for us.

‘Those who would like to be lines officials at the Legends Series event held at the Ritz-Carlton are encouraged to attend the course. We are also looking for volunteers so that we can offer umpires and lines officials at junior events and local tournaments.’

To register your interest please e-mail [email protected] A sign up sheet will also be posted at the tennis club in South Sound. Places are limited so early booking is advised.

The PWC Junior Tennis Circuit Event at Camana Bay will also be held that weekend. Entry forms should be submitted by no later than 28 October.

Walkers ‘Play & Stay’ Mini tennis, family fun activities for all juniors and adults, a free session, is on at Camana Bay on Sunday 1 November from 4-6pm.

Morgan Hayward, Edward Bodden and Nicolas Polloni won Grand Prix No.1 of the first PWC Junior Tennis Circuit at The Ritz-Carlton.

Superfine said: ‘Thank you to Thomas Neuert and his team for hosting this first event of the series. The national rankings will be sent to the International Tennis Federation.’
