The National Spelling Bee has received a financial boost from Deloitte, as the annual event goes into final rounds next week.
The Lions Club of Grand Cayman is a host, along with the Ministry of Education. Tannya Mortimer, youth development & outreach committee chair, acknowledged Deloitte’s contribution.
‘The Lions Club of Grand Cayman is a non-profit organisation and we depend on corporations such as Deloitte to help us make this annual event a success’, she said. ‘The Club appreciates the support from Deloitte and look forward to their continued support’.
Thirty-seven students from various schools, including Cayman Brac, competed for the coveted trophy and some fantastic prizes. The finals take place on 1 December for secondary schools and 2 December for primary schools at the Mary Miller Hall beginning at 6:30pm.
