There is something exciting about children carolling, yuletide puddings and twinkling lights that brings joy during the Christmas season.
This was the setting at Northward Christmas Lighting and Carol service last Sunday night at Northward Road Park.
Gathered under the moonlit sky, people of all ages, from young children to the older members of the community, gathered to enjoy fellowship and sing carols amid the park’s beautiful Christmas setting.
Bodden Town MLA Anthony Eden said it was a wonderful tradition that occurs every year. He said he understood things were difficult for many people this year ‘but we can take solace that God is there in these difficult times,’ he said.
Mr. Eden also challenged parents to monitor and give children guidance. Health Minister Mark Scotland and MLA Dwayne Seymour also encouraged those gathered to love their families, put away hate and reach out and give to someone less fortunate.
The community effort of dressing up the park to mark the occasion had its beginning as a result of a neighbourhood crime watch that started some years ago.
