Students at Cayman International School (CIS) were entertained of stories of Christmas’ past in Cayman by local story tellers.
Virginia Foster, Rita Estevanovich, Roy Bodden, Twyla Vargas and Jevaughnie Ebanks visited the school and treated the students to delightful tales of Christmas and life in old-time Cayman.
Traditional decorations, including an old Caymanian style home with sand on the front yard swept with a rosemary broom, and a gravel walkway lined with conch shells added to the story experience.
The kids also sampled some of the traditional Caymanian treatthe storytellers mentioned such as cassava cake, breadfruit, and Caymanian beef.
Hosted by members of the school’s Cayman Culture and Historical Committee officials say the event is the beginning of a new tradition at the school.
