The Minister’s Association and concerned members of the public have planned a Thousand Man March in response to violence and the need for positive male role models in the Cayman Islands.
The event will take place from 5-7pm 6 February in George Town.
Marchers are scheduled to meet at three different locations in George Town that will be announced soon. The men will then walk one mile to the Quincentennial Square, between Edward Panton and Albert Panton Streets, where the rally will culminate with speeches and refreshments.
According to church worker Cora Atanacio at Agape Family Worship Centre, ‘The march is to promote awareness for the need of men to fulfil their responsibilities to their families and society.’
Men are encouraged to walk with their sons on the occasion.
