Watch services expand

Kirk Freeport’s watch service centre is now even better thanks to some new specialized training received by one of its watchmakers.

A press release states watchmaker Stefan Breitenlechner achieved Level III training from Swiss-based watchmaker Breitling after successfully completing multiple training courses at the company’s headquarters in Grenchen, Switzerland.

The Level III training certifies Mr. Breitenlechner to service over 98% of all watches Breitling currently manufactures, making him the only person in the Cayman Islands, and one of only two people in the Caribbean, with this specialized training.

Mr. Breitenlechner is also highly trained on many of Kirk Freeport’s other watch brands including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Chopard, IWC, and others.

‘When you purchase a watch from Kirk Freeport we strive to offer you first class service to support that purchase,’ said Chris Kirkconnell, Vice President of Operations for Kirk Freeport.

Kirk Freeport’s watch service centre boasts four highly trained watchmakers and an up-to-date workshop with cutting edge technological equipment used in prestigious watch manufacturing factories in Switzerland. The service centre in Grand Cayman is better equipped than many of the regional service centres in Europe and the USA.

Even as some watches become more complicated, the watchmakers can service a large majority of the watches sold at Kirk Freeport and receive ongoing training from the brands they represent. Services include battery replacement, polishing, routine service, and complicated repairs.
