Gas station robbed

Royal Cayman
Islands Police detectives were investigating an armed robbery at a George Town gas station
Thursday morning.

Just after
5am, police said three staffers were working in Delworth’s Esso service station
at the intersection of North
Church Street and Eastern Avenue in George Town when three hooded men entered the
premises.

Police said
one of the men was carrying what appeared to be a firearm.

The men
allegedly threatened staff before making off with the cash register from the store.
Police said they were last seen running behind the service station.

No shots were
fired and no one was injured in the incident.

The suspects
were all described as wearing dark coloured jeans and black long-sleeved,
hooded tops. They all had light complexions and spoke with Caymanian accents.

Detective
Constable Colin Pryce of the George Town Criminal Investigation Department is
appealing for anyone who was in the area of the service station around the time
of the robbery or who saw the suspects fleeing the scene to come forward.

Anyone with
information should call George Town
police station on 929-4222 or Crime Stoppers 800-8477 (TIPS).
