Friday sees the start of another
three-day extravaganza with the launch of the North, Central America and
Caribbean Volleyball Confederation season at Public Beach, George Town.
After last year’s successful first
staging of the NORCECA event, word spread like a virus that Cayman is the

up some Olympic qualifying points.
Seasoned pair Shervin Rankin and
Olney ‘OT’ Thompson will lead Cayman’s male charge, ably backed up by newcomers
Duncan Hamann and Andrew Gordon.
Cayman’s women are represented by
the experienced Jennifer Bily and Wanda Brenton and newcomers Tarasa Barnett
and Cristin Alexander. Bily and Brenton came fifth last year and want at least
a bronze medal this time.
Matches start from 9am Friday.
