During the first two months of
2010, employees of dms Organization Ltd and its affiliate and subsidiary
companies have collectively donated more than 242 hours of community service.
Participants helped out with Junior
Achievement, Hedge Funds Care, Off the Beaten Track – A One of a Kind Trail Run
for Facing Africa, JA’s Economics for Success, HospiceCare Flag Day, Irish
Guide Dogs Flag Day, Cayman Islands Youth Development Consortium, Cayman
Islands Optimist Club and Cayman CrimeStoppers.
“Establishing a foundation and culture
dedicated to serving the community has always been of fundamental importance to
dms,” said dms Vice President Krista Pell.
“Individually, each of us can make
a difference, and at dms we actively encourage our employees to take
responsibility for the community in which we live and work.”
The programme provides employees
with the opportunity to use up to 16 hours of work time to volunteer within the
community for a not for profit organization, either through dms-organized
events or through endeavours of their own accord.
dms annually donates thousands of
dollars to community and civic causes. At the forefront of these initiatives is
the Joanna Clarke Excellence in Education Award which annually grants up to $12,000
to deserving education initiatives.
