Former West Indies skipper
Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Australia opener Simon Katich have signed for
English county side Lancashire for part of this season.
Left-hander Katich will join
Lancashire for the duration of June before joining the Australian squad who
face Pakistan in a two-test series in England in July.
Chanderpaul, another left-handed
batsman who has also played for Durham, will join in mid-July and will play for
the remainder of the season.
Chanderpaul is a former world
ranked No.1 batsman. He won the 2008 Wisden Cricketer of the Year award for his
stunning display in the 2007 Tour of England. He was also the recipient of the
2008 International Cricket Council Player of the Year title.
The 35-year-old Guyanese first made
his Test debut in 1994 at 19 and has been an ever present since.
