Saturday Storytime: Take a fanciful book journey

Service
club initiative aims to promote child literacy and entertain the whole family

The Public Library Service and
Rotary Central present Saturday Storytime. Beginning Saturday, 15 May, the half
hour sessions will take place 11-11.30am the new children’s section of the
George Town Public Library. The children’s section is on the first floor of the
library and is a popular venue on Saturdays.

“We hope kids will join us on our
journey to the unknown as we bring books alive through fun songs, rhymes, art
and play,” Library Services Acting Deputy Director Juliet Lawson said.

“Each week a different theme will
be explored.  And there will be many
surprises geared towards entertaining the entire family.”

Noting that the events are free,
she urged parents to attend. “It promotes literacy in the family and allows
parent and child to spend quality time reading together.”

Ms Lawson thanked Rotary Central
members for their continued effort to promote literacy throughout the Cayman
Islands.
