Digicel awards World Cup fans

The highly anticipated Digicel
prize trips have been awarded to two very elated Digicel customers in Ms. Linda
Key and Ms. Elaine Bogle-Taylor, who will be going to the finals of the
upcoming international football tournament in South Africa.  Digicel, the Official Regional Broadcast
Sponsor of the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa, announced the winners in an
afternoon soiree at the company’s flagship store in Camana Bay on Saturday, May

The event kicked-off at 3pm with
emcees Chuck Taylor and Jules from HOT 104.1FM. 
By reverse order, drawings were done firstly for ten WestStar TV
packages (featuring three months worth of HD Premium Sports) presented by
WestStar Director of Operations Traci Bradley. The winners were are Jauna
Bodden, Veronica Wilson, Terry Ashley Edwards, Artnel Muir, Devin Scott,
Terrence Parris, Kimberly Voaden, Branli Morales, Berris Barnett and Uton

More winners were selected for a
new Blackberry Gemini 8520 smartphone from Digicel (Suladda May) and two cash
prizes of US$2,010 presented by Canover Watson of the Cayman Islands Football
Association (won by Andrew Rogers and Derrick Phillips). 

Grand prize winners Key and
Bogle-Taylor expressed their joy at attending the World Cup. Key, a Digicel
postpaid customer since the company opened its doors in 2004, said:“I am so
happy with Digicel. The grand draw was nerve-wracking as the prizes are so
attractive and everyone would love to go to South Africa and be a part of the
celebrations there. I thank Digicel for this once-in-a-lifetime chance.”

Since moving to the Cayman Islands
three years ago from Jamaica, medical doctor Bogle-Taylor continues to enjoy
the high standards of Digicel’s products since 2001. Bogle-Taylor was also
happy to have won saying: “This is fantastic! 
It is amazing that we have received such a high value prize because we
really never did much to enter. Here I am today getting ready to go to one of
the largest events around the world in South Africa. I am so pleased and I am
looking forward to this trip.”

Both ladies will enjoy super
all-inclusive prize trips including airfare, accommodation at the luxurious
Kedar Lodge in Johannesburg, spending money and tickets to the final match on
July 11 2010 in South Africa. The two winners will be travelling to Jamaica on
July 8th, where they will meet 37 other Digicel customers from across the
entire group, before heading to South Africa.

In between the announcement of
winners a pair of dance routines took place. The first was an acrobatic
performance by the Fresh Boyz Dancers and the other was Afro-Caribbean belly
dancing by Soraya Fernandez and friends.
