Letters to the Editor: Rugby team enjoyed visit

Firstly my apologies for the delay
in sending this letter, but I have just returned from leave.

On behalf of the president, chairman,
committee and the touring party of South Wales Police, a sincere thank you for
hosting us on the recent tour of the Caymans.

It was an outstanding tour both on
and off the pitch, and although our unbeaten touring record has gone, it was
fitting that we should lose to such a good side.

All of us who toured will cherish
the memories of your wonderful Island and from a personal point of view,
although I know I share these thoughts with some of my colleagues, I envy you a
little (no, a lot), playing in such an amazing part of the world.

I trust the local hostelries will
have had their profits bumped up a little for the period we were there. We all
had a great time and had a warm welcome where ever we went.

The fishing and the visit to
Stingray City were the highlights for some of us, whilst some of us simply
enjoyed the rugby and meeting you guys.

Griz, I don’t know what you did to
Bob our physio on your around the island trip, but he didn’t look well the next
day. I’m coming with you next time!!

Should any of you visit South Wales
or wish to tour our part of the world, we would only be to pleased to assist in
any way we were able. It would be good to play you again…in the rain!

Once again our sincere thanks to
you all and all those at Cayman’s RFU who assisted with our tour and made us
most welcome.

Keep in touch.
