Double stabbing in George Town over weekend

Police said a husband and wife were both stabbed in an attack over the weekend in George Town. The incident left both victims hospitalised, but was not immediately reported by police.

Shortly before 1am Saturday, Royal Cayman Islands Police said the couple became involved in a verbal
altercation with a group of men in the car park of the Helium Bar on Shedden
Road.

The couple left that location with the intention of calling into
George Town police to report the incident.

As they stopped their
vehicle on Elgin Avenue, police said the husband and wife were approached by a man whom they recognized as
having been involved in the fight earlier.

Police said the man attacked the couple,
stabbing both the man and woman, and ran off toward town centre.

The
victims made it to George Town police station and were subsequently taken by ambulance to the Cayman Islands Hospital.

The woman, 27,
was released following treatment. Her husband, 28, remains in hospital in a
stable condition.

No arrests were immediately reported. The suspect is described as 6 feet tall, dark brown complexion
with a braided hair style.

  1. The Cayman Islands have officially turned into an armpit surrounded by water. What a shame that you let hoodlums and low life’s run the island-no wonder all the expats are leaving-it has become little Jamaica.

  2. And don’t make the mistake of thinking this does NOT get into the international media, either by word of mouth or those who read and subscribe to the local papers whilst off island. It will eventually have a huge affect on tourism – especially the best kind which is stay-over.
