Suspected drunk driver knocks out traffic light

An early morning crash in central George Town on Friday
knocked out a traffic light for a number of hours.

Royal Cayman Islands Police Service accident
investigators said a Honda Accord driving along Eastern Avenue toward Shedden
Road lost control and slammed into a light post at the intersection of Eastern
Avenue and Godfrey Nixon Way.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was later arrested
on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The street light at the intersection of Shedden and
Eastern was out for several hours.
