All clear given for Cayman

Hazard Management
Cayman Islands has discontinued the tropical storm warning for the Cayman
Islands just before 3pm Wednesday.

However, Hazard
Management warned that the broad area of low pressure over the northwest
Caribbean would persist, leading to continued bad weather for the Cayman Islands
area for the next 24 to 48 hours.  The Cayman Islands National Weather Service
forecasts continued rainy conditions for the next four to five days, but there
will not be as much rain has fallen over the past two
dadys.

Hazard Management
warned that the seas around Cayman will continue to be
rough.

“Boating
interests should continue to remain in safe harbor as strong southwest to west
winds will persist, reaching tropical storm force at times,” Hazard Management.
“Rough seas, with wave heights of 8 to 10 feet are expected to continue over our
area for at least another 24 hours. The south and west coasts of our Islands
will continue to experience heavy wave action and some beach
erosion.”
