No ships today, flights back to normal

There will be no ships in dock
today as Cayman and the surrounding waters continue to feel the effects of
Tropical Storm Nicola.

Royal Caribbean’s 4,400-capacity Liberty of the Seas and the Carnival Conquest, which holds
3,000 passengers, had to bypass Grand Cayman
due to the weather.

Next week’s ships

The next ships due in are both
docking on Tuesday, 5 October. Carnival Legend and Carnival Valor are scheduled
to come to Cayman, bringing a potential of 5,098 visitors, if the ships are
filled to their maximum capacity.

Flights resume

Following the “all clear” being
issued for the Cayman Islands yesterday and
the subsequent improvement of weather conditions in the Cayman area, Cayman
Airways Limited has advised the public that all flights are now operating as
scheduled.

“Cayman Airways thanks the public
for their understanding and continued support of the airline’s commitment to
safety, and looks forward to welcoming everyone on board soon,” said the
airline.

  1. At least Cayman Airways landed! American Airlines turned back Tuesday night, wouldn’t land and took passengers back to Miami where they had to overnight and try to get on flights the next day.
