The Rotary Club of Grand Cayman
Sunrise has been named the first-ever recipient of District 7020’s Club of the
Month award for its efforts in developing and recruiting membership in August.
John Fuller, District 7020
secretary, announced the news in a fitting finale to a month of hard work led
by Bruce John, Rotary Sunrise’s membership committee director.
Among many other efforts, the
membership committee wrote membership-related articles, helped to break the
club’s previous record for new-member inductions, created an updated new member
package, created a robust new member orientation program, and published a club
brochure to educate the public about the club and Rotary International.
Regarding the announcement of the
award, past president Winston Connolly said:
“… I was immediately floored with great pride that my club had won. To
see the efforts of President Mike and his team rewarded publicly after being up
against strong competition was very exciting.”
District 7020 Assistant Governor
Rosie Jamieson said: “My congratulations go out to Grand Cayman Sunrise on
being the first club in our district to claim the coveted Club of the Month
Award. The standard of the clubs in the Cayman Islands have always been very
high, both in terms of the people we induct as Rotarians and the projects we
carry out on behalf of our community.
“That being said, this win comes as
no surprise, and really I think the kudos can be claimed by all Caymanian
Rotarians, and in our great spirit of cooperation I know Sunrise is happy to
share their success with the rest of the clubs.”
As winners, all the members of the
Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise are entitled to wear a custom-designed
lapel pin bearing the Club of the Month logo.
