Two arrests in Bodden Town beating death

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service has arrested two men in connection with a deadly beating that occurred Friday night in Bodden Town.

Two men, aged 18 and 36, were in police custody Sunday on suspicion of murdering 49 year old Jack Forbes.

The two – who had not been charged – were taken into custody after police enquiries in George Town and North Side over the weekend.

Mr. Forbes was attacked just before 6.30pm Friday at Plaza Odessa in Bodden Town. The mall is just east of the Bodden Town Police Station.

RCIPS officers responded to calls from the public and discovered the man lying on the ground around 6.20pm. The victim had suffered what appeared to be serious blunt force injuries and had lost consciousness.

The were other reports that Mr. Forbes had also been stabbed during the fight.

Paramedics were called in and attempted CPR with no success. Mr. Forbes was pronounced dead on the scene.

  1. shame on you cayman, I love cayman i visit once a year its a shame to see what,s happening in that beautiful island,i think the immigration has some blame letting in criminals from other countries, without back ground checks, they bring their ways and mix with the locals to carry out their criminal ways,.Its like this Country USA all the illegals status so they can get votes to gain back power. Cayman will soon have no one to visit for fear of their lives. The government better take this in hand before its too late, The criminals have guns why not all of the police, who seems to be out gunned. The police need to show that they have the power not the criminals.

  2. Obviously it time to stop thinking of Cayman as different then everywhere else, those days are over. It’s officially the same as everywhere else, you have to hold your pocket books tight at your side, watch your back when out at night, lock your doors and bar up your windows. I’m sure companies that install security systems and bars on windows will start to flourish. Soon you will see neighborhoods with beautiful homes that have bars on every window just like every place else. But I’m sure people will still visit. After all Cayman is the closest thing to Paradise. You just have to be ready to duck when the devil strikes.
