The Chicago White Sox may not be
playing this month but they will be making an impact on Cayman’s youth. The pro
baseball team is coming here in a few weeks for another training camp.
The White Sox will be back in
Cayman 25-29 October leading a kids baseball session titled the BullSox
Training Academy. All of the action gets under way at the Field of Dreams
facility in George Town for kids aged seven to 15.
Cayman Islands Little League
representative Paul Gallagher is among the organizers for this month’s program.
He states the training sessions are geared as an introduction to the sport of
little league baseball.
“The camp is all about expanding
Cayman’s little league program,” Gallagher said. “Most of the kids have the
week off as it is their mid-term break so we hope we can reach most of the
children on-island. With the White Sox camps they’ve been done before and were
well-attended. We have athletic kids that play other sports and we would simply
like to see them on the field through the camp.”
Costs for the camp range from
CI$125 per child to CI$75 for siblings. For more information e-mail [email protected]candw.ky.
