Dancehall superstar

Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques
was born in Kingston, Jamaica on January 9, 1973. The superstar of dancehall
has released four extremely successful albums, worked with Beyonce and most
importantly visited Cayman Islands beforee, with a concert to mark the launch
of sponsors Digicel in 2004, so the heat and the streets will be familiar to

The concert also includes
performances by KK Alese, DJ Alic, DJ Docts and Love Culture, whose Stuart
Wilson was delighted to be on the bill.

“It is an extreme pleasure and a
milestone in my career to be blessed with such an opportunity. Sean Paul has
continued to blaze a trail all over the world for Caribbean artists and is the
second-highest-selling artist in the genre, after Bob Marley.

“This show is precisely what Cayman
needs right now and will be one to remember, I’m sure,” said the musician.

Venue face lift

The venue itself, Royal Palms, has
had a face lift for the occasion. The area between the beach bar and the former
gift shop has been converted into a swim-up pool and there are also several
cabanas around the popular Seven Mile Beach hangout. The Royal Palms has, over
the years, hosted concerts by true legends of Caribbean music including Byron
Lee, but rather than using the car park, the stage for Sean Paul is set on
Seven Mile Beach itself.

There will be a designated area for
kids plus an exclusive VIP area in the upstairs of the Reef Grill beach bar.
Security is going to be very visible and the whole event has an air of
professionalism about it that proves Cayman is capable of hosting international
superstars in a number of different ways.
