Bodden Town MLA Dwayne Seymour appeared in Summary Court Tuesday for a mention of charges of common assault and attempting to obstruct, prevent, pervert or defeat the course of justice in connection with a fight that occurred in May at a Seven Mile Beach hotel.
During Tuesday’s appearance, Mr. Seymour’s attorney Steve McField said he had been served with disclosure papers by Crown Prosecutor John Masters and needed time to go over the material. He asked for three weeks to do so.
Chief Magistrate Margaret Ramsay-Hale agreed to the request and set another mention date for 30 November.
Charged along with Mr. Seymour in the common assault case is Hartwell Minzett.
Two men were hurt in the fight in question and were treated at the George Town Hospital for minor injuries.
