Minister’s pep talk at centre

During his first official visit
earlier this month to the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre’s mandatory
Year 12 programme, Education Minister Rolston Anglin gave students a pep talk
on success.

He encouraged students to exercise
respect, determination, resilience and punctuality. He also noted that the
centre is one of his key educational projects, and explained that a major
objective was to prepare students both mentally and academically for either
advanced studies or entry to the world of work. Cayman Islands Further Education
Centre Director Leonora Mendoza-Hydes thanked the minister for his visit,
adding that it was greatly appreciated both by the student body and staff. She
also added her hope that his interest would continue to grow with the programme.
Others accompanying the minister were Chief Education Officer Shirley Wahler
and Education Ministry Senior Policy Adviser Clive Baker.
