The 1.20pm and 2.25pm flights
between Owen Roberts International Airport and Miami on American Airlines this
afternoon have been cancelled, but later services are still running.
AA561, scheduled to arrive at
1.20pm, and AA1018, scheduled to depart Cayman at 2.25pm, were listed as
cancelled on the Cayman Airports website. American Airlines confirmed that this
was due to the grounding of AA561 which originated in Washington, DC which has
been severely affected by stormy conditions.
However, flight AA2239 on American
Airlines from Miami is still running as scheduled as is AA2240 from Cayman to
Bad weather in the North East led
to 280 cancellations on AA alone on Wednesday and at least 65 on Thursday, with
airports in Miami-Dade and Broward also reporting 68 cancellations to and from
the affected area. Knock-on effects mean that other connecting flights may be
subject to disruption.
