Tirotta makes it look easy

Agua FC continue their pursuit of
the Heineken Sunday League championship with another win at the weekend, their
twelfth of the season, following their comfortable victory against CML
Claymores at the TE McField Annex.

CML and Agua both created clear cut
chances, but the difference between the sides was Agua’s ability to score with
their opportunities.

Agua took a 2-0 first half lead in
at the interval and after the break they moved further ahead. Agua then made it
4-0 when Massimo Tirotta followed up a shot that the CML keeper did well to
push onto the cross bar and he was then perfectly positioned for the rebound to
score from one yard, making it the easiest of his 13 goals this season.

Elsewhere, AC Lunetta defended
heroically against second in the table Fire Pros Boca Juniors, competing well
and restricting them to only two goals.

Unsurprisingly league top scorer
Mike Ebanks was among the action, claiming both goals, in the seventh and 77th
minutes to take his season’s tally to 17.

Lunetta took heart from their
defensive performance for the remainder of the season, but need more work on
their attacking options.

Harry’s FC kept their winning run
going for another week against International Kickers. Harry’s raced to a three nil
half-time lead thanks to a goal from Craig Webster and a Hubble brace.

After the interval Harry’s hit four
more through an Irons McKenzie double and goals from Chris Fenn and Rob Neesome
to round off a 7-0 victory.

The final match of the weekend was
between MC Devils and the Old Boys. Thanks to Devils’ best performance of the
season they earned all three points with a resounding 3-0 victory. Devils
opened the scoring after 18 minutes through Paul Njogu, before extending their
lead before half-time through William Peake.

After the break, Devils kept
pushing forward and were rewarded when Marcus McKellop killed off the game when
he made it 3-0 after 57 minutes to round off a miserable morning for the Old

After this round of fixtures Agua
FC remain at the top of the table with 39 points, five points ahead of Fire
