Samson B enjoyed upset over A-team

The TeleCayman Squash Business League entered week 2 at South Sound Squash Club last Thursday.

Every Thursday at 7.15pm 24 players come together to sweat it out, representing their business sponsor until 5 May, with the exception of 7 April due to the Cayman Open.

Week two’s highlights brought some very exciting matches, a little drama and some very tight scores.

In Division One the two teams from Samson & McGrath battled against each other, however the B team came ahead with the bragging rights. Marlene West took a win over Shaun Geils and Gabe Rabess beat Myron Blair both scores were 3-1.

The South Sound Squash Club had a very close win over team Alphasoft, but squeaked out a victory by only one point. National coach Glenn Stark defeated Paul Johnson 3-1 and they young Julian Jervis ran Fernando Beckles to exhaustion and taking the win 3-1.

The final tie in Division One included a solid win by Ernst & Young over AON. Nick Buckley took a win over Alison Strobridge 3-1 and Geoff Bakker defeated Dan MacLean both with 3-1 scores.

In Division Two Team Admiral defeated KPMG White with Alistair Cowper taking a 3-0 victory over Sam Story and Desmond Ebanks with a closer result against Craig Morgan, winning 3-1.

The KPMG Blue team, had little trouble with Team TeleCayman with 3-0 wins. Jan-Sarel Kruger beat Valeriu Danulescu and Rob Arther defeated George Mirica.

In the final matching EFG Bank took on and defeated BDO. Glen Trenouth took out Dwight Dube 3-1 and in the most dramatic match of the evening had Peter Spyrou, representing EFG Bank and sporting St. Patrick’s Day green hair out played Adil Anwar from BDO 3-2.

The South Sound Squash Club has lots of programmes and drop-ins for players of all levels.
