Osetra Bay will be hosting a special event tonight.
“We are very excited to have producer and DJ Max playing at Osetra Bay for the Ocean Club Lounge event on Friday, 1 April,” says James Sedgley, part owner of the club. “It’s not often that a critically acclaimed and world-renowned DJ like Max comes and visits the Caymans, so we feel really privileged to have gotten him and are really looking forward to the evening, which we know will be a great event for the Cayman Island’s dance scene.”
He continues: “There’s such an eclectic mix of dance culture now in Cayman, so it’s great to be having an event with a top class DJ that will hopefully help and continue to establish the Islands as a go-to destination to see world-class acts and also have a great party at the same time.”
DJ Alexi is playing that night, too, so Osetra Bay will have Cayman’s own number one in the mix as well.
Ocean Club Lounge organisers have ordered a free shuttle service running approximately every 45 minutes, starting at 8.30pm, stopping at Treasure Island, Royal Palms, The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman and Tiki Beach to ferry people up to the venue.
They will also be running a drop-home service from 1am to the same locations.
There will be drink specials all night and free canapés.
“Although Max is renowned in the UK for his funk-infused dance tunes, when he goes out to DJ he tends to tailor his set to the venue and crowd that he’s playing to,” says Sedgley. “It’s fair to say, though, that whether he’s dropping some housey vibes, breakbeat, or even drum and bass, it all bears the hallmarks of Max’s musical education, and when I say he’s got a PhD in anything funky and soulful, I’m not kidding.”
He’s had legendary sets that have graced the likes of Glastonbury’s Dance arena, Bestival, V, the Isle of Wight Festival and some of the best clubs all over the world.
“For his Osetra Bay set, he’s likely to keep things cool, soulful and melodic for the most part, but don’t be surprised if by the end of the set he’s got you shaking your thang to some of the heaviest grooves you’ve ever heard this side of the Atlantic.”
Osetra Bay Club and Lounge is at Morgan’s Harbour in West Bay. For more information on tonight’s event, email [email protected] or call 623-5100 or 325-5000.
