Chris Gayle is still fuming at being dropped by the West Indies Cricket Board.
Gayle claims that he was forced to make himself unavailable for the current series with Pakistan by the board. The big-hitting Jamaican signed a deal to play for Indian Premier League franchise Bangalore Royal Challengers after being dropped for the first two games of the one-day series.
The move resulted he asked for and was granted a No Objection Certificate to play in the IPL. But the board claimed they thought he was injured and wanted him to play in the Tests. Gayle denies this.
The former skipper said: “The only reason I asked to be made ineligible from the Pakistan tour was to try and continue playing cricket for a living. I was dropped with no communication whatsoever and found out not from the board but through the media.”
