With schools closing this month, now is the time to start planning activities to keep kids busy over the long summer break.
Camana Bay is offering a number of fun, active and educational camps, clinics and private lessons for children of all ages. The Camana Bay Aquatic Club Sea and Swim Camp is a unique opportunity for competitive swimmers aged 7-16 to enhance their skills and learn about marine life through various educational seminars, snorkelling trips and activities.
Seven-time Olympic medallist Aaron Piersol along with a team of local coaches and marine ecologists have created a unique and diverse programme. Participants will even have the chance to race Piersol in a fun sea swim along Seven Mile Beach and gain tips on open water swimming.
This four-day camp is from Tuesday 5 through Friday 8 July from 9am to 5pm at the Camana Bay Sports Complex. The cost is $295 and includes lunch each day from Café del Sol. Space is limited to 40 children.
The Camana Bay Aquatic Club Half Day Camps provide a fun and positive atmosphere for swimmers aged 5-14 to improve their skills. Coach Katie Lambert believes that in an inspirational environment, with a strong focus on technique, swimmers can reach their maximum potential.
Campers will work on one of the competitive strokes each day and learn about competitive swimming. It’s a great camp for those up the sport in the fall.
This five-day camp will be held at the Camana Bay Sports Complex from Monday 25 through Friday 29 July with a morning session from 8:30am to 11am for ages 5-8 and an afternoon session from 1pm to 4pm for ages 9-14. The cost for each session is $125 for Camana Bay Aquatic Club members and $175 for non-members.
Private lessons and small group clinics with coach Katie is a great way to take swimming to the next level. She focuses on the technique of each stroke and caters to individual needs. These lessons and clinics are open to swimmers of all ages – not just kids – and ability levels.
Private lessons offer 25 minutes of one-on-one coaching at a cost of $25 for Camana Bay Aquatic Club members and $35 for non-members.
The Private Lessons and Small Group Clinics will be available for two weeks from 11-15 July and 1-5 August at the Camana Bay Sports Complex.
Camana Bay has partnered with Sea Elements to offer a fun and educational summer camp for children aged 7-13. The Cayman Sea & Discover Camp teaches the importance of Cayman’s marine environments and their relationship with the land.
The kids learn through a number of interactive, hands-on activities including snorkelling excursions to a coral reef and a seagrass meadow, underwater photography classes, planting endangered wild cinnamon saplings and more.
The five-day camp takes place from Monday through Friday and is on offer over the following dates: 18- 22 July, 25-29 July, 1-5 August and 8-12 August. Sessions begin at 9am in the Heliconia room on Market Street across from Watch Me and end at 3pm. The cost is $285 and includes lunch each day from Café del Sol.

The Camana Bay Sport Camp is a great way for athletes aged 6-14 to improve their skills while having a blast. Campers can swim, play tennis, football, athletics, volleyball, basketball, rugby and get conditioning to enhance overall athletic ability. It’s an opportunity to excel at their favourite sports and try some new ones.
It runs from 18-22 July from 8:15 am to 4pm at the Camana Bay Sports Complex. Once again, the cost is $295 and includes lunch each day from Café del Sol.
The Orlando Magic Basketball Camp is a unique opportunity for aspiring hoop stars aged 7-16 to train with a special guest from the Orlando Magic. Campers will receive authentic NBA instruction and improve their skills through stations, drills, skills contests and live games. This five-day camp runs from 1-5 August at the Camana Bay Sports Complex. The cost is $295 and includes lunch each day from Café del Sol.
