The Cayman Islands Referees Association is conducting a basic referee course.
Organised by the Cayman Islands Football Association, it runs from 25 July to 3 August. The referees association is looking for anyone interested in becoming certified referees and assistant referees to officiate in local football matches.
Referees perform a vital role in football, ensuring safety, fairness, equality and enjoyment. With the growth in football’s popularity, particularly among women and the youth, the demand for officials is always increasing. Becoming a local referee could be anyone’s gateway to the FIFA international panel of referees, some of whom are full-time, travel the world and earn six-figure salaries.
This course is open to all interested men and women from the age of 16 who maintain a reasonable fitness level.
Classroom sessions will be administered from 25-28 July. Revision will be conducted on 1-2 August and the theory exam will be done on 3 August.
All sessions run between 6:30-8:30pm each day at the George Town Primary School.
For registration e-mail [email protected] or call 926-1868 or 949-5775 or contact any referee.
