Caymanian Compass readers will be able to claim a free patty when they collect the promotional tokens in Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s newspapers.
Tastee Patties, distributed by Tortuga Rum Company, can be redeemed before midnight on Wednesday at any of the participating stores.
Readers are asked to cut out one token from tomorrow’s newspaper and a second one from Wednesday’s newspaper and present these at participating stores in exchange for their patty.
Tortuga Rum Company sells more than one million patties per year and is the number one export for the Jamaican-made Tastee patties.
“Tortuga has a long heritage of selling quality products to the local market. Tastee fits perfectly with Tortuga as it is a quality, locally consumed product of exceptional quality,” said Barnaby Richardson, Brands Manager for Tortuga.
Tastee patties, which come in four flavours – beef, chicken, coco bread and veggie – are market leaders says Mr Richardson, because “they select the best cuts of meat and have an internationally renown pastry crust which is known for its flavour and texture.”
The Cayman Islands’ close ties to Jamaica mean that patties are as much a staple here as they are in their country of origin. This promotion will give patty lovers, as well as those who have not yet tried them, a chance to sample this much-loved snack.
Patties can be redeemed at Mike’s Esso Walkers Road, Jose’s Escape Crewe Road, Maedac Texaco Red Bay, Kirk Supermarket and all Foster’s stores (Airport, the Strand, Republix, Countryside Village and East End).
