Gabe Rabess nabbed fresh props this week in New York.
Rabess claimed gold in the men’s squash event at the 2011 World Police and Fire Games in New York City. He would beat out competitors from a number of countries including Spain and the US.
Interestingly the World Police and Fire Games is a biannual tournament. It is one of the world’s largest sporting events having slightly less competitors than the Summer Olympic Games but more than the Commonwealth Games. This year’s competition wraps up on Monday 5 September and features 15,000 athletes spread over 65 sports.
Rabess, a Royal Cayman Islands Police Service officer, is no stranger to squash props. In early August he made it to the third round of the 2011 Caribbean Senior Squash Championships held at the South Sound Squash Club. In June he was the player coach for the Cayman squash team that competed at the Island Games in the Isle of Wight.
