DMS Broadcasting’s Yeah Baby! Family Expo, presented by the Baby Shoppe on Saturday, 24 September, has the makings of the ultimate family day out. The fourth edition of this annual expo brings together a diverse range of child and family related local businesses under one roof.

“It’s one stop shopping for the latest and greatest in products, services and information for your baby and entire family,” says Blake Rogers, programme director at DMS Broadcasting.

Parents and children will be equally well catered to at the one-day event, which will be held at the Arts and Recreation Centre at Camana Bay.

Booths

Some 14 vendors are slated to set up booths from which they will be offering advice, samples and information on their respective businesses. Participating exhibitors cover a wide range of family-related services, including medical, dental and photographic, as well as vendors of children’s clothing, apparel and baby equipment.

Despite the name, the expo is not only aimed at parents with babies.

“Whether you’re a brand new parent or have teenagers, you’ll find something new each year at the Yeah Baby! Family Expo. It’s an annual opportunity for some of our amazing advertisers to showcase new products and services available to different age groups all under one roof,” says Dan Charlestion, DMS market manager. “It’s definitely a great family outing on a Saturday, and best of all it’s free to attend.”

An activity centre set up inside the Arts and Recreation Centre will ensure that children are not bored for a moment. Youngsters will be able to expend some excess energy on the bouncy castle provided by Party Source, while for those who can stay still long enough there will be face painting. A story telling area will be set up and the Public Libraries will sponsor the reading of children’s stories by local authors.

Demonstrations

In addition to the booths, there will be a series of demonstrations and interactive activities throughout the day. Body Now for Mums and Kids will be offering demonstrations of their core strength and yoga classes for mothers as well as children, and Cayman sports will showcase their Buggy Fit exercise class designed for mums to do with their baby buggies.

Young karate practitioners from the Purple Dragon will be showing off some of their sharpest moves, and gymnasts from Motions Unlimited will also be putting on a performance.

In addition, there will be opportunities for children to learn all about the endangered Blue Iguana, thanks to educational sessions provided by the National Trust.

Plenty of snacks and refreshments from family-friendly favourites such as Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin’ Donuts will be available, and there will be a seating area for adults and children to rest and recharge their batteries.

The free expo runs from 9am to 5pm, Saturday, 24 September.
