Wanderers glide past Old Boys

It was a shortened fixture list last week in the Heineken Sunday Football League with only three games.

The game between MC Devils and Boca Juniors was postponed after a number of their players were called up for duty in the Pirates Week celebrations.

The match of the day was between Agua FC and Harry’s FC at the Ed Bush stadium in West Bay. In a game full of drama it took a last minute penalty award to Harry’s for them to salvage a point against their rivals. Dan Stuber scored first for Harry’s then Irwin Kormos hit two brilliant free-kicks before Floyd McKenzie’s last minute penalty evened it at 2-2.

Looking to cement their lead at the top of the table, league leaders Triple Crown Wanderers hosted Old Boys at the TE McField Annex. Wanderers went ahead through an early Emmanuel Brown penalty. Wanderers wrapped up a 2-0 win when Forde Pierson allowed Johnny McLaughlin to score from close in the 62nd minute.

Elsewhere, draw specialists CML Claymores got yet another draw, their fourth from their six league games, against Prison who got their first point of the season.
