Little Cayman gets first automated teller machine

Cayman National Bank launched the first automated teller machine in Little Cayman as part of expanding its services.

Customers may now access the ATM outside the bank’s normal operating hours of 9.30am to 2.30pm on Mondays and Thursdays.

The bank marked the expansion of its Little Cayman customer service centre in December with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a Customer Appreciation Day, kicked off by students of the Little Cayman School singing Christmas carols.

In his opening remarks, Cayman National Bank Executive Vice President Brian Esau said: “Cayman National is pleased to again bring banking to our clients. Just over a year ago we expanded our premises in West Bay, and today we are happy to see the completion of this project in Little Cayman, which also now houses an ATM to better serve our customers.

“As the only local and community retail bank in the Cayman Islands, we understand that our responsibility must go beyond ‘doing business’ to partnering with our clients to achieve their financial success and the socio-economic development of our country.”

Mr. Esau added: “This grand opening speaks to continued growth of Cayman National and our dedication to our customers and the greater community.”

A moment of silence was held for the late Linton Tibbetts, who was instrumental in the expansion of the Customer Service Centre. Kyle Hooker spoke on behalf of the Tibbetts family and said the family was pleased the partnership with Cayman National had come to fruition with benefits accruing in the island.

Reverend James Barron of the Little Cayman Baptist Church blessed the Customer Service Centre and its staff. The ceremony ended with a ribbon-cutting by Zanda Scott, manager of the Cayman Brac and Little Cayman Customer Service Centres and Truman Bodden, chairman of the board of directors of Cayman National Corporation.
