The competition is sponsored by Cayman Free Press, Cayman Airways and Monster Media and the prize is to win a trip for two to the festival, which takes place between 26th and 28th January. The prize comprises flights courtesy of Cayman Airways, accommodation, airport transfers and tickets to the concerts on Friday and Saturday night. Note that you must be available to travel to and from Jamaica between 25th and 29th January.

Superstars coming
This year’s bill comprises top international and local superstars.
Beyond the main stages concerts, several pre-shows and events will be held in association with various venues across Montego Bay, Kingston and Trelawny. From jazz picnic in the park, themed club night, jazz brunches to saxophone lagoon tours, there will be something for everyone, say organisers.
Other acts performing include Cee Lo Green, Jully Black, the Temptations Review feturing Dennis Edqwards, Earl Klugh, Heads of State, Nicole Henry, Richie Stephens, Destra Garcia and many, many more.
Over the course of the event an audience of between 25,000 and 30,000 is anticipated to watch the 25 live acts. As well as the international legends, there’s also a new music area – Art of Music Talent Stage featuring undiscovered, unsigned, upcoming and original Jamaican and international artistes.
Biggest and brightest
The Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival was inaugurated in 1996 and was originally held in October and November in order to attract visitors to Jamaican shores. Since 2000 the festival has taken place around 20th January and is considered to kick off the Jamaican entertainment calendar. Over the years performers at the event have included Earth Wind and Fire, Diana Ross, Chicago, Lionel Richie, Anita Baker, Gladys Knight, Monty Alexander, Third World and Billy Ocean.
In Jamaica’s fiftieth anniversary year the 2012 festival is mooted to be the biggest and brightest ever.
Céline Dion’s music has been influenced by genres ranging from rock and R&B to gospel and classical. While her releases have often received mixed critical reception, she is renowned for her technically skilled and powerful vocals. Dion is the best-selling Canadian artist of all time, is the second best-selling female artist in the US during the Nielsen SoundScan era, and is the only female artist to have two singles sell more than a million copies in the UK. In addition, her 1995 album D’eux, is the best-selling French-language album of all time.In 2004, after surpassing 175 million in album sales worldwide, she was presented with the Chopard Diamond Award at the World Music Awards for becoming the best-selling female artist of all time.
