A number of young men had good showings at a car audio meet.
The Cayman Auto Enthusiasts Association recently hosted their first major event of 2012. Titled ‘The Art of Audio,’ the meet took place at Automotive Art in George Town.
In the Sound Pressure Level competition, class three was won by Bobby (Digital) with a decibel reading of 137.5. Jordan Seales, a motorsports veteran behind the wheel of his Mitsubishi Evolution III, was second at 134.6db. Third was Julio Fagan at 130.8db.
Cory Taylor won class two with a decibel reading of 139. Second place went to Chad Seymour of 133.2db and third went to Jonathan Bodden at 130.8db. The winner for class one and the sound clash champion was Marshall at 149db, a new record in Cayman. Nick was second place at 145.5db and Wes Nyack was third at 142.8db.
Jason Seymour had the loudest exhaust at 124db.
The Automotive Art gathering had prizes on offer for a variety of categories including installation quality. Most of the various competitions focus on car audio levels and decibel readings for various automotive noises.
This month’s meet comes after the association’s last event in November 2011. That gathering at AL Thompson’s parking lot in George Town attracted a large crowd and numerous cars, from Honda Accords to Chevrolet Silverados, with advanced sound systems.
