Power hitters propel Crighton

The Crighton Sluggers are an intimidating team in Little League baseball and owe their brilliance to a pair of young hitters.

As part of the most fearsome batting order in the Cayman Islands Little League AA division, 12 year-old sluggers Zion Coe and Darian “War Tank” Lopez have distinguished themselves as the only two boys in the division to hit the ball over the fence.

Their blasts have scored critical runs for their squad this season. Both Zion and Darian have two over the fence home-runs each to their credit. The boys attribute their proficiency at the plate to many extra hours spent practicing and perfecting their swing.

Halfway through the season, after nine of 18 games, Crighton are third at 3-1-5. The public can catch Zion and Darian striking fear in opposing pitchers every Tuesday and Saturday at the Field of Dreams facility in George Town.
