Rotary Central wins top awards

Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Central Officers and members returned recently after having spent a week at the 38th Annual President- Elect Training Seminar and District Conference in Arc des Archidens, Haiti.

At the conference, Rotary President Fiona Moseley accepted the Platinum Award for Club of the Month, District Award for Literacy and Zone 34 Award for Literacy from District 7020 Governor Guy Theodore.

“This is fantastic news,” Ms Moseley said. “This is the third year in a row that we have been awarded the Zone award.”

Zone 34 encompasses Florida, Georgia and the Caribbean with 11 Districts, 29 countries, hundreds of clubs and more than 40,000 Rotarians. Rotary Cental also contributed two cases of school supplies for a school in Haiti, as part of a concentrated effort by Rotary District 7020 to help get the country back on its feet. “It is amazing how using the resources of Rotary Clubs and Rotarians we can get some much accomplished so quickly,” said President-Elect Ravi Kapoor.
