If you haven’t yet been, there is still time to catch the Red Cross exhibit at the old library.
May is Red Cross month around the world and the Cayman Islands Red Cross has chosen to celebrate by putting on a special exhibition this month.
Most people know that the Red Cross is a nonprofit humanitarian organisation, but many are not aware of exactly what they do in different parts of the world.
The Cayman Islands Red Cross is active in four areas: first aid, disaster management, the HIV and AIDS awareness programme and the thrift shop.
This exhibit aims to showcase these four programmes through campaign posters, first aid equipment, disaster supplies, items from the thrift shop and relevant documents.
A short video will provide some background on the International Red Cross Movement and there will also be a collection of letters dating back to the 1970s and 1980s.
The exhibit is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11am to 2pm and on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.
