Great customer comments helped the Southern Cross Club in Little Cayman receive a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award, which is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding reviews.
“Fantastic!!” “Perfect!” “Quiet, beautiful and low key” are words used by guests of the resort to describe it. One lamented, “I can’t even describe how perfect it was.”
These reviews were posted during the month of May on TripAdvisor, a widely-read travel site that boasts millions of visitors and sites in 30 countries. Regular visitors Paul and Paula Brazier wrote a review. “We are delighted to hear that the club has been recognised for its consistency of excellent delivery, since that is what Tripadvisor truly measures,” said Paul in an e-mail from England. “The club management and staff should take great pride in this award and I know we speak for all of their guests when I say ‘well done, congratulations and it is truly deserved!’”
Newcomer to the resort Daniel Z posted on the site: “I have never before written a TripAdvisor review, and I have travelled a lot. But I feel that I need to write this one. What a fantastic resort! Great rooms, better food than I could get almost anywhere at home in NYC, a first rate dive team, and the cherry on top, Fernando – the best bartender in the Caribbean, bar none. I’ll be back.”
Sunset House wins
Sunset House, Grand Cayman’s Hotel for Divers, by Divers, also announced that it has received a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award. The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide. About 10 percent of accommodations listed on TripAdvisor receive this prestigious award.
To qualify for the Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.
“Sunset House is pleased to receive a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence,” said Keith E. Sahm, director of marketing at Sunset House. “We strive to offer our customers a memorable experience, and this accolade is evidence that our hard work is translating into positive traveller reviews on TripAdvisor.”
Volume of reviews is also measured, and plenty of guests wanted to share their experience at the Southern Cross Club.
“The fact that our guests have taken the time to write a review is a true credit to the resort and our staff, who do a phenomenal job,” said General Manager Jennifer Mills-Smith. Resort Manager Neil van Niekerk agreed and credited owner Peter Hillenbrand with creating a casual and friendly atmosphere where everyone is on a first name basis and customer service is a priority.
”Our guests are more than guests,” Mr. Hillenbrand said. “They are our friends.”
